For my first post, I thought it might be fun to record snapshots of my painting process. I’ve been experimenting with turning traditional sketches into digital paintings lately.
I quite like the textured pen lines so I reduced the opacity in the sketch layer and blocked in the main colors beneath it. This resulted in a de-saturated foundation layer, which is a problem I’m learning to embrace.
I rendered subtly above the sketch layer, taking care to keep some of the pen textures. Overall, I quite like the muted, watercolor effect this process has given me.
