Painting Imperial Assault figurines & Valentines Sneak Peek

So admittedly, I’m not doing super duper well with my weekly blogging goal. Not entirely sure why – since I seem to be on track with my other 2017 Art Plan. Any how, I might just need to change up my blog content to keep it from getting stale.

I’m almost done working on the Star Wars figurines. So once that’s done, I’ll make a post with all the completed pieces in the next week or so. The sheer scale of the pieces make them super cute to photograph (and just look at in general).

As you know, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and I’ll have a special collection lined up for it. I know a lot of you will hate the concept of Valentine’s Day. But the collection will have something for everyone. I don’t want to reveal too much just yet but I’m pretty sure everyone will find at least one theme they can relate to. So keep an eye out for that!

Here’s a little sneak peek…

You’re My Universe – WIP

It was a mad week in the office, in an understaffed-overworked kind of way. But I had some pretty cute ideas for my art. My favourite is “You’re My Universe”. My boyfriend told me he liked the concept so I’m a little proud of it. I’m thinking this could be a great piece to develop, maybe even for Valentine’s Day. What do you guys think?

If you haven’t already seen my Art Goals post, I made it a goal to work on some art every day this year. And so far, I’ve kept to it. Follow me on Instagram for more regular updates.

Daily Challenge – 2 Weeks In

Hi guys. I’ve decided this daily challenge update is going to be a weekly thing. It’s been a strange gloomy week.

A lot of artists say they can translate their negative feelings into a creative process and I think a little bit of gloominess has seeped its way into some of my pieces.

The good news is, I’ve been keeping up to date with my daily goal. I’ve yet to miss a day and that’s definitely a cool feeling.

I haven’t posted everything from last week this time. To check out my rest, have a peek at my Instagram.

Daily Challenge – 1 Week In

Hi everyone, I figured this would be a good time for a quick update.

Last week, I wrote a post about my goals for 2017. So far, I’ve been doing good – keeping up with my goal to produce art every day.

What? It was hard enough making one a week but I decided to push myself to do one a day.

There have already been days when I dreaded working on this. Either because I think the piece is terrible or I can’t think of anything remotely interesting to draw.

On days like that, I used to leave things unfinished and procrastinate with some other menial task (terrible habit, I know!). But so far, the pressure to have something to upload the next day has been enough of a driving force to keep me on track.

I’m aiming to do it long enough that it becomes a habit (we all know how fleeting motivation alone can be).

As I scroll through this post, I’m totally surprised by how much work I’m capable of producing if I put my mind to it. If you’re busy with school or a full time job, I hope this sheds light into what can await you too.

I spent the past few months, feeling lucky if I had one piece uploaded on Instagram per week. But in the last few days, I’ve just been using lunch breaks and free time to create things. So if it helps, I really recommend using little pockets of available time in your day. Oh, and take your sketchbook everywhere with you. And you’d be surprised how much you’ll have done in a week!
